Wuthering Heights

Published in 1847 under the pseudonym Elis Bell, Wuthering Heights is the sole novel authored by Emily Bronte, one of the Bronte sisters of England. Set in the mysterious moors of Yorkshire, the novel challenges the ideals celebrated by the Victorian society.
It revolves around the story of an orphan boy, Heathcliff and Catherine, his childhood playmate who turned out to be his soul mate when they grew up. Their fierce and  passionate love could not be tamed by the laws of the society or cooled by the passage of time and thus resulted into destruction and revenge.
One of literature's most disturbing explorations into the dark side of romantic passion, Wuthering Heights is a gothic tale that depicts the irresistible and dangerous nature of a love that knows no limits as it consumes the two people at its core and destroys everyone who comes near it.
