ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nana is a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and industrial relations. After completing his GCE 'O' and 'A' levels, he pursued accounting courses, graduating with qualifications from ACCA and ICA (Ghana) in 1990. He furthered his education with a postgraduate course in Supervisory Management at GIMPA in 1991, followed by Basic and Advanced Certificate courses in Securities Management at the Ghana Stock Exchange in 1992. Nana's professional experience spans various roles, including positions at Ghana Cocobod and SSB (now Societe Generale Bank).

His active participation in Trade Union activities led to his appointment as a member of the Bank's Finance Committee (1984-1992) and his service on the Executive Council of the Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union of Ghana (1986-1990). He also pursued advanced courses in Trade Union Education and Industrial Relations, becoming a leading Trade Union educationist and negotiator.

As a labour consultant, Nana established the EKA Business Resource Centre in 2000, which provides management training and industrial relations consultancy services. His company has contributed significantly to the growth of key institutions in Ghana, including banking, local government, and education. Nana has also been instrumental in improving the conditions of service for private security workers through his work with the Union of Private Security Employees of Ghana (UPSEG).

Currently, Nana collaborates with the international consultancy group ISS to enhance security systems across Ghana. He has successfully trained numerous professionals in Ghana, including accountants, human resource managers, and industrial relations officers. Nana serves as an advisor on labour issues in Ghana, and his writings and contributions remain valuable resources for fostering effective industrial relations practices in the country.
